7 Performance Teams and One Big Day at the Sydney Royal Easter Show

There is something SO special about performing at the Sydney Royal Easter Show that just hits different. The crowd is bigger, the energy is louder, and the kids rise to it every single time.

This year, AP Performers brought a busload of dancers to the Amphitheatre for seven back-to-back performances - and it was the perfect way to kick off 2026.

Our first performance of the year

The Easter Show is always a highlight on our calendar, It was the first time our dancers had performed their 2026 routines in front of a live audience - brand new choreography, brand new AP gear, and all the excitement and buzz that comes with that.

From the tiniest of our tiny RSD dancers right through to the seniors, everyone got their moment on that Amphitheatre stage. It is so special watching the kids of all ages share the same space and the same experience - each group at a completely different stage of their journey, but all of them showing up and doing their thing.

New year, new looks

There is always excitement when the new AP gear comes out, and this year was no different. Seeing the kids in their 2026 uniforms for the first time on a real stage - not just at class - is one of those small moments that makes the whole thing feel more official.

Performing at the Sydney Royal Easter Show is not a competition.

There are no scores, no trophies, no pressure to win anything… And that is exactly the point.

Opportunities like this give our dancers a chance to perform in a real life environment - a crowd, a proper stage, an atmosphere you simply cannot recreate at a eisteddfod or end-of-year concert. The experience of standing up in front of thousands of people and just dancing, without the weight of competition, is genuinely valuable and so much fun.

2026 is just getting started

The Easter Show is just the beginning of what this year has in store for AP Performers. With our dancers already hitting the stage before Easter, we are very ready to see what the rest of 2026 brings.
